🆓 Free Bet Blackjack: the real odds & smartest way to play

~1.0% (perfect strategy)house edge
YOUR SHOT: GOOD
Fun and fast because you're constantly getting 'free' doubles and splits, but the dealer-pushes-on-22 rule is the price — it wipes out a chunk of your wins. Around 1% with correct play, a touch worse than plain good-rules blackjack.

✅ Best bet

The base game using Free Bet strategy. The dealer puts up 'free' chips for your doubles (on hard 9/10/11) and splits (any pair except tens) — you keep the winnings without risking your own money — paid for by the dealer-22-push rule, same offset as Blackjack Switch.

🚫 Sucker bet to avoid

Side bets, and not taking the free doubles/splits when offered. The whole value is in the free bets; passing them up hands the edge back.

How the edge is computed

The free doubles and splits are pure player value, but the dealer-totals-22-is-a-push rule offsets them by turning many would-be dealer busts into pushes. With perfect Free Bet strategy the house edge lands near 1.0%, modestly higher than a good 3:2 blackjack game.

Optimal strategy

Always take every free double and free split you're entitled to — they cost you nothing and the dealer is funding them. Otherwise play near-standard strategy adjusted for the dealer-22 push. Naturals still pay 3:2 here (unlike Switch).

What to expect

Fun and fast because you're constantly getting 'free' doubles and splits, but the dealer-pushes-on-22 rule is the price — it wipes out a chunk of your wins. Around 1% with correct play, a touch worse than plain good-rules blackjack.

Play it smart. Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money — the house always has the long-run edge, and no system beats it. Set a budget you can afford to lose and stick to it.
